“They don’t play instruments.”
” This sucks.”
“It’s all about looks anyway”
“Rock is dying/dead”
“How can people listen to this?”
“Isn’t as good as it used to be”
“Rap is just swearing”
“I was born in the wrong time period.”
“How do people like Jazz?”
“How can you listen to Pop?”
“Made for little kids”
“People don’t know real music”
Blah blah blah.
Let me clear something up. People are allowed to have opinions different to yours. People do things differently to you. When it comes to *OPINIONS*, no one is right. Look up the definition. When it comes to *FACT*, right and wrong apply. Learn the difference. Get it into your thick heads.
To you dumb, thick idiots that go to my college, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert etc are not the be all and end all of music. Yes, these people have mastered the guitar and are virtuosos. But that doesn’t mean that anything other than virtuosic shred-fest guitar or any other instrument music is invalid.
Come on man, there’s nothing wrong with only liking one kind of music, but then to go and trash talk other types of music just because it’s “all about looks” or “there’s no instruments” or simply because you think it sucks is complete ignorance.
Then you people [at a music institute] have the cheek to call yourselves a “real musician”.
Lol just think about that for a second. You’re studying music but you don’t like music. Just think about how ridiculous that is.
Some of the absolute best music I have ever heard has come from the fusion of different types of music. Embrace other music. In the Arts, there is no such thing as right or wrong. It’s impossible. Nothing is correct when discussing something based around taste.
Personally, i’m Not a die hard country music fan, but I can see good things about aspects of it. A lot of it isn’t to *MY PERSONAL TASTE*, but that doesn’t mean someone else is dumb for liking it and hating the music that I like.
I listen to anything. Do I like everything? Nope. The difference between me and other people is that I give it a chance. I love music.
I love music.
I love music so much.
Please, stop with the snobbery. Because *that* is wrong. If anyone reading this knows a music snob/elitist whatever, show them this video. (Watch till the end). This is an example of the pure magic that takes place when radically different musicians come together. As a side note, how about listening to the lyrics. Still think it’s only ever swearing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_smSoZLyg8
